This OBN writing prompt was inspired by a popular thread on the OBN Forum that was started by Owl Jones called, What is your Favorite thing to eat Outdoors? I have a few, but I know what is the first thing that I look for when waking up on a camping trip...ugh...no, that's not it! Well, maybe. Ok, the second thing I look for...BANANA PANCAKES!!! (And they are yummy with a few chocolate chips thrown in too!) There isn't anything better than making pancakes outside on the outdoor stove and warming up some maple syrup to pour on top. Mmmmmmm....
Now, I think that I will go stir up a batch this morning along with some hot, crisp bacon and scrambled eggs and orange juice!!! See ya tomorrow for one of the best "Sunday Tippet" segments ever...a recap of my recent trip to the Smoky Mountains. Yes, finally!!!!
For Coyote Luke...Bisquick, our camping friend! Just add water...
Then, slice and dice bananas and drop in!!! Easy...
mmm..... pancakes!
ReplyDeletethe chocolate chips are key :) That is a good one, rd. I like your choice.
ReplyDeleteoh, cofisher.... ha.
I didn't want to compete with the girls on the Troutrageous site...heehee...Sorry, Cofisher...picture cropped. Cofisher really liked the pancakes...in fact, he's speechless! ; )
ReplyDeletehow do you get pancakes when camping?
ReplyDeleteLuke ~ there you go...two step pancakes!!!
ReplyDeleteNice addition... and subtraction:) I brought that pancake bottle along last time we had a campsite. Super easy.
ReplyDeleteBlueberry pancakes are my favorite!
ReplyDeleteD Nash ~ Gotta think fast sometimes!! Ha. Love the clean up too...
ReplyDeleteJ&M ~ Blueberry is my second favorite!!
The only two blogs I've ever had comments deleted, yours and Owl's...it's a conspiracy. Don't like bananas my favorite is potato pancakes.
ReplyDeleteHoward ~ That was my bad...forgot to crop before I posted...I love potato and german pancakes too!!! Hmmm...why do you have a different color on your name...must be for someone special.
ReplyDeletePancakes and bacon--hard to beat before hitting the water---but the big question here is how many calories are in those pancakes???
ReplyDeleteBill ~ Saturday Tippet ~ Calories don't matter when you are wading and walking the river! Just limit those pancakes to 3 and those calories will be off by dinner! :)
ReplyDeleteUmmm...I don't recall seeing any of these banana pancakes last weekend....
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of Two Step Pancake Mix, but, I would probably add to many chocolate chips and then I would have the "Two Step" of a different kind.
ReplyDeleteMark ~ When you come out West...you will see the cakes on the griddle for sure! Promise...
ReplyDeleteMel ~ Funny...heehee!
